The Bhethanabotla group applies piezoelectric and nanoscale phenomena to chemical and biological sensors, sample generation for mass spectrometry, and catalysis.  Current efforts are in clinically-relevant, point-of-need biological sensors and systems, an acoustic nebulization combined with plasma ionization technique for generating mass spectrometry samples, and conversion of carbon dioxide to fuels and chemicals.  The group utilizes theoretical, computational and experimental methods to develop projects from fundamentals to engineered solutions.
