Dr. Christopher Nenninger

Christopher Nenninger earned his PhD in Environmental Engineering.  He was co-advised by Prof James Mihelcic.

Christopher’s research focused on improving the siting of latrines in low- and middle-income countries where latrines are used as a technology for sanitation.  Christopher worked on quantifying what constitutes a “safe” distance between a latrine and a downgradient drinking-water source such as a shallow groundwater well.

After graduating from USF in 2025, Christopher began working for a small Hydrogeological firm, ASRus, in the Tampa Bay area, focusing primarily on underground injection control (UIC) wells.
