Maedeh Yazdani Arani presented her research at several conferences

Maedeh AWWA presentation
Maedeh Yazdani Arani presented at AWWA's Water Quality and Technology Conference (WQTC) in Tacoma, WA.  Locally, Maedeh also presented her research at the FSAWWA and FWRC conferences.  Maedeh was awarded "Best Poster" at the FSAWWA conference and was invited to present at the national AWWA ACE conference in Washington, DC.  Congratulations Maedeh!

Below is her summary of the presentation:
"As environmental engineers, our work is fundamentally aimed at protecting public health and reducing risk. For those of us focused on water research, a common question we encounter is: “Is my water safe to drink?” This question highlights the importance of our work. Ensuring water safety requires rigorous, data-driven analysis—not only because data provide objective evidence, but also because they enable us to build public trust and reinforce the importance of equitable access to safe water, a resource that is often taken for granted.
My research focuses on applying data analysis and machine learning/AI to better understand historical trends and improve future predictions. By doing so, we aim to enhance insight into water quality processes and reduce potential health risks. In addition, I study public perception to help bridge the gap between technical research, available data, and community understanding and needs."
