On a whirlwind set of travel in March, Dr. Alfredo started by presenting research at the NERPS Annual Conference at the United Nations University in Tokyo. As a NERPS Research Member, she serves as a member of the Science Advisory Board for the conference and Chaired several sessions in addition to presenting on Assessing the efficacy of place-based experiential pedagogies for sustainability focused education (co-authors Joshua Fisher and Laurel Zaima). In addition to presenting at NERPS, Dr. Alfredo was invited to give several seminar presentations while abroad. After Tokyo, Dr. Alfredo traveled to Geneva and spent a day with the Water Sanitation and Hygiene group at the World Health Organization. At the WHO, Dr. Alfredo presented research highlighting the Relative Health Indicator work ongoing within her laboratory as well as the source choice research from West Bengal, India. She presented a similar presentation to the Sandec Group at Eawag and the WASH cohort at the University of Leeds. Focused on the idea that infrastructure does not equal access to potable water, Dr. Alfredo laid the foundation for future collaborations with all three groups.
